Can we talk for a moment about Dave/Jade?
Dave, on multiple occasions, makes comments like this. He throws his first Dead Dave out of a window and does it ‘before Jade sees it. It might freak her out.’ He tells Terezi that he thinks that she’d be a liability and needs protection. He doesn’t tell Jade that he knows that he’s going to die by her bullets and then tries to rationalize it. Etc. etc.
Even when he’s terrified for himself, because he was obviously freaked out in all of those situations, he always makes note of Jade. And Dave is really overprotective of all of his friends (ex: see his freak out about Rose’s suicide mission) but he’s just really vocal about Jade all the time.
I don’t think that he thinks she’s weak but he assumes that he’s supposed to be her protector -her knight, per se? Obviously, he’s wrong but it really shows what sort of person Dave is. And that is why one of my favourite interactions between these two is when Jade was pandering to him about him being a bigshot brave hero and then announces that:
GG: i will be your hero
GG: its me
TG: wait what

I knoooow, but I really want a change and it seems rather pointless making a whole new blog with the exact same name. And it’s just the url of it, i’ll probably still go by silverselkie/selkie elsewhere to avoid confusion!
